N-type i-TOPCon and 22.5 % efficiency<\/h2>\n

TSM-500NEG18R.28 uses 108 monocrystalline cells and produces 500 Wp at 22.5 % module efficiency under standard test conditions. Positive power tolerance is 0 to +5 W. Rated power is measured at 1000 W\/m\u00b2 irradiance and 25 \u00b0C cell temperature; actual generation planning accounts for location and operating conditions.<\/p>\n

Electrical data for string design<\/h2>\n

Maximum-power voltage is 33.3 V and current 15.03 A. Open-circuit voltage is 40.1 V and short-circuit current 15.86 A. Series-connected module voltages add together; select string length so the entire array meets the actual device MPPT range and maximum voltage at local temperatures.<\/p>\n

Performance under NOCT conditions<\/h2>\n

For this 500 Wp variant the datasheet lists 382 W at NOCT, with 31.5 V MPP voltage and 12.11 A MPP current. Defined comparison conditions are 800 W\/m\u00b2 irradiance,20 \u00b0C ambient temperature and 1 m\/s wind. These values help assess module behaviour alongside its STC peak rating.<\/p>\n

Dual glass and black frame<\/h2>\n

Front and rear glass are each 1.6 mm thick and heat-strengthened; the front adds an antireflective coating and high transmission. A 30 mm black anodised aluminium frame surrounds the module. The glass-glass construction supports long-term rooftop photovoltaic applications.<\/p>\n

Temperature and climatic conditions<\/h2>\n

Module operating temperature is \u221240 to +85 \u00b0C. Temperature coefficients are \u22120.29 %\/\u00b0C for power,\u22120.24 %\/\u00b0C for open-circuit voltage and +0.04 %\/\u00b0C for short-circuit current. Design accounts for cold-weather voltage and hot-cell output. Tested loads are 5400 Pa for snow and 2400 Pa for wind; mounting is designed for the actual building.<\/p>\n

Connections, cables and bypass diodes<\/h2>\n

The junction box is rated IP 68 and contains three bypass diodes. The manufacturer specifies 4 mm\u00b2 PV cable, standard 1300\/1300 mm lengths and a 280\/350 mm special-order option. Connector options are TS 4 and TS 4 Plus, with MC 4 EVO 2 available by special order. Choose a specific matching connector variant for the system.<\/p>\n

Equipment to pair with the module<\/h2>\n

Use a suitable PV input on an inverter, microinverter or MPPT charge controller. Match voltage range and maximum voltage, operating and short-circuit currents, array power and connector type. For battery charging, route solar power through a charge controller or hybrid inverter designed for that battery.<\/p>\n

Array power and generated energy<\/h2>\n

Two modules provide 1 kWp nominal array power and ten provide 5 kWp. Wp describes peak array rating; energy generated in kWh depends on sunlight, orientation, tilt, temperature and system losses. Select inverter AC output for the actual loads and battery capacity for operation after sunset.<\/p>\n

Long-term performance specified by Trina Solar<\/h2>\n

The datasheet states a 25-year product workmanship warranty and 30-year power warranty subject to manufacturer terms. Its power curve specifies maximum 1 % first-year degradation and 0.4 % annually in years 2\u201330, reaching 87.4 % at year 30. Applicable warranty terms relate to the actual product and region.<\/p>\n
